Description
NA The project is to design and construct a new Aircraft Parts Processing building at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, south east of Tucson, Arizona. The project is within the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) portion of the base. The new bu ilding will have a total of 4200 SM under roof (3306 SM for parts processing and 894 SM for administrative). The parts processing area of the building has a conveyor system, dip tanks with exhaust hoods, overhead crane rails and hoists, foam in place stat ion for packaging/shipping, and a real time x-ray machine and lead lined enclosure room. The administration area will use pre-wired systems furniture for the workstations and loose furniture for the private offices, locker space, storage and breakroom. Other spaces within the building are bathrooms, warehouse, tool room, and mechanical/electrical space. The completed building will require a depressed loading dock, lightning protection, DOD interim minimum force protection standard, and heating and air c onditioning. Some pavement replacement is required for parking. Demolition of 6230 SM, buildings 7401 and 7401A, is required after completion of asbestos and lead paint abatements. The project has the following options: Option 1 - Procure and Install Ne w Real-Time X-ray Room; Option 2 - Relocate Existing Real-Time X-Ray Room; Option 3 - Relocate Existing Equipment Not Being Replaced Including Real-Time X-Ray Equipment; Option 4 - Procure and Install New Critical Equipment; Option 5 - Procure and Install New Non-Critical Equipment; Option 6 - Design, Procure, and Install New Furniture for Workstations; Option 7 ? Regrade drainage ditch, parallel to Irvington, to the nearest outfall ditch; Option 8 ? Relocating Equipment from 7401 and 7401A. Options 1 and 2 are not additive. Either one or the other will be selected depending on funds availability. This solicitation is a Request for Proposal (RFP). The proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria: Price, Design Experience, Construction Experience , Individual Experience, Past Performance, Schedule, Organization Chart, Technical Approach, and Subcontracting Plan. Estimated Cost is $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00. The NAICS Code is 233310. Time for completion is 662 days. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PR OJECT. Solicitation DACA27-02-R-0007 will be issued on approximately 18 December 2001 and receipt of proposals is 12 February 2002 at 4:30 p.m. (local time). There will be a Pre-Proposal Conference on 15 January 2002. Additional information will be provid ed at a later date. This project is available on Compact Disk and the Internet.
