Description
NA A market Survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Section 8(a) and/or Hub Zone Business Competitive Set Aside award. The proposed contractor will be to Design Build a new child development center at Rock Island Arsenal. Project to in clude computer and homework labs: library and quiet room; large multi-purpose room, arts and leisure room, performing arts room, common and meeting areas, reception and sign-in area, vestibule, restrooms and kitchen. Project includes staff and administrat ion areas, meeting room(s), laundry area, walk in refrigerator, janitor closet and playground. The work will comply with the historical requirements of the installation. This project is planned for advertisement in 4/12/2002 with award scheduled 6/29/2 002. Contract duration is estimated at 750 calendar days NAICS is 233320. The estimated price range is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. 20 % of the work is to be self -performed. All interested Section 8 (a) or Hub Zone business should notify this office in w riting by mail or fax by 21 December 2001, 3:00 pm, Louisville Kentucky time. Responses should include: (1) Identification of company as Section 8(a) or HUBZone business, (2) Past experience - Describe completed design/build projects that are similar in s ize and scope to the proposed project, the performance of self-performed work, how it was accomplished, and the A/E that you partnered with, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar amount listed above, and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified Section 8(a) or HUBZone business firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition.
