Description
NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Offers for Drydock of Liquid Hydrogen Barge (LH-1). The Contractor shall drydock, inspect and paint the wetted surfaces and freeboard of the barge with an Option 1 to include removal, fabricate new, and install deluge piping(from the shore connection header flange to its extents) on the barge; and Option to include renewing the drip pan water supply piping. The Contractor shall provide pricing for shaped plate per pound and straight plate per pound as specified in the Statement of Work; labor pricing for gourge out and rewelding per linear foot; labor pricing for cropping and installation of straight plate sheets on the hull; labor pricing for cropping and installation of shaped plate sheets; provide labor shop rates for labor on a per hour basis (listed per craft description at the contractor's facility e.g., electrician, machinist, outside machinist, rigger, welder, etc). Support requirements shall be provided. The Contractor is encouraged to make a site visit to view the subject barge and anticipated work to assure the scope of work is fully understood. The period of performance shall be thirty (30) days after contract award. The Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation document. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 488390 and 1,000 employees respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFO 13-SSC-O-02-16 is on or about December 19, 2001 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about January 2, 2002. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
