Description

The Government has a requirement for a basic quantity of two ASDS Silver/Zinc batteries, (1,120 700 ampere hour cells per battery) and other related items such as 224 spare cells, 112 sample cells, two activation kits, and ~200 hours of related engineering services. There will be two options for similar quantities for FY 03 and FY 04. A fixed-price contract is anticipated. The Navy intends to solicit and negotiate this contract on a sole-source basis to BST Systems, Plainfield, CT based on FAR 6.302-1, only one source capable of meeting the Government?s requirements. Batteries are to be manufactured IAW NSWC Crane Specification 609-PS-0577. Delivery of the basic quantity is required within nine months after award. Option quantities will be required within nine months after exercise of options. Delivery will be FOB Pearl Harbor, HI. Inspection and acceptance testing will be at origin. The Government will make available Government Furnished Material (silver) for incorporation into the batteries. The applicable NAICS Classification is 335912 and the size standard is 1000 employees.
