- Description
- This is a description of the requirement for the procurement of a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). The requirement is for a complete CMM System. This includes the four basic components: the probing system, the computer system, the measuring software, and the basic machine itself (incl. controller). Installation, training, calibration, and technical support will also be required. System Configuration and Performance Specifications : 1. Measuring Envelope: The objective is to maximize the measuring envelope while minimizing the basic machine footprint (minus controller, computer and other periphery equipment). The minimum acceptable measuring envelope is X = 38 inches, Y = 85 inches, Z = 27 inches. 2. Required Components: Overall Dimensions Maximum Footprint: X = 75 inches, Y = 130 inches, Z = 110 inches. 3. The basic machine shall include: Solid granite worktable with stainless steel threaded inserts. Frictionless air bearings. An artifact for requalification. A complete measurement and servo control / drive system for all functions. The system shall contain essentially zero backlash. System components necessary for Direct Computer Control. All tables and other peripheral equipment required to reasonably locate all components. 4. Probe System - Components listed are specified to be compatible with CMM components currently located and used. Renishaw Touch Trigger Probe (TP20), Renishaw Touch Trigger Probe Kit (PH10T). 5. Software System - Dimensional Measurement Interface Standard (DMIS) A Windows Based basic software package that will support the following functions. (For direct computer control), Continuous Scanning of Curves & Surfaces with PH10T an TP20, Visual and audio help screen, Drag and drop measuring capability, Smart or directed measuring capability, All software updates (upgrades) shall be provided for up to one year from system acceptance date, Multiple levels of graphics including wire frame or solid, Copy, paste Repetitive Measurement, On screen reporting data attached to each feature. 6. Computer System: Desktop PC computer with components adequate for direct control of the CMM, servo system, probe, and all software elements mentioned above, Printer, 17 inch color monitor. System is to be delivered to the Defense Supply Center Columbus, 3990 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43216 within 120 days of contract award. This is an unrestricted procurement. NAICS is 334519.
