- Modoc National Forest intends to acquire services for the rental of Truck Tractor without operator for approximately 7 months.Specifications: -Truck tractor provided shall be a 1992 model year or newer -3 axles conventional with a day style cab -Minumum 400 horsepower -Minimum 13-speed transmission -Equipped with an engine brake or retarder -Equipped with a fixed or sliding fifth wheel. The distance from the center of the fifth wheel to the end of the truck frame shall not exceed 60 inches if a fixed fifth wheel is provided. If a sliding fifth wheel is provided, it shall be adjustable down to 60 inches or less. -Truck tractor shall have locking rear differentials -Truck tractor shall be provided with a heater, defroster and air conditioner. -Equipped with a driver?s side air seat or equivalent. -Equipped with an AM-FM radio and CB radio. -Equipped with power steering. -Equipped with a cab guard with window for rear viewing. -Truck tractor shall be provided with ? fenders over the front drive wheels/tires. -Truck tractor shall be provided with all the necessary electrical wiring required to operate the dump gates on a bell dump trailer. Wiring shall include an electrical switch within easy reach of the driver & external wiring that can be adapted to a Forest Service belly dump trailer. -Truck tractor shall have an external toolbox capable of holding a jack, lug wrench, warning triangles and 1 each 3/8? x 20? chain. -Truck tractor shall be equipped with a jack, lug wrench, 1 set warning triangles and 1 fire extinguisher. Contractor will be responsible for transportation of truck tractor if the distance is more than 150 miles radius of Alturas, CA. Contractor shall be responsible for all normal wear and tear and any repairs over $350 and repairs shall be completed within 48 hours. This truck tractor will be used to pull a 35 tons lowboy trailer. NAICS 532490 Size $5.0. This acquistion will be conducted under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items.
