Description
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The procurement is entitled, Technical Assistance Report and Best Practices Conference on Year 2003 Medicare Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Project. CMS is seeking a contractor to develop a technical assistance report that will highlight exemplary practices of managed care organizations with regard to quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) projects that address culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) and clinical health care disparities (CHCD). To facilitate the development of this technical assistance report a conference shall be held, in North Carolina at the university, to examine information from various Medicare+Choice Organizations (M+COs) concerning quality improvement strategies and current best practices in the managed care industry related to CLAS and CHCD QAPI activities. Potential sources may identify their interest and capability in response to the above requirements by submitting clear and convincing documentation that fully defines their capability to meet the established requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider interest expressed within 15 calendar days of publication of this notice. A determination not to compete this purchase order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of CMS. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
