Description
Z -- SOURCES SOUGHT The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 234990 and the small business size standard is $27.5 Million. The acquisition is for demolition, removal, and disposal of the existing timber pier and piles including fuel, sanitary, water and compressed air lines and electrical power; construction of a new wood fixed pier and a concrete floating pier; providing and installing new pier-mounted electrical, water, sanitary, compressed air shore ties, and fuel station including all piping; and performance of all associated work as indicated in Specification 01-L5001 and Drawings 01-L5001, Sheets 1-26. Work includes a base bid item. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or facsimile to Ms. Victoria Worrell at vworrell@fdcclant.uscg.mil or (757) 852-3495 (fax). In your response include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contacts and telephone numbers; and, (c) a positive statement of your remaining bonding capability. Your response is requested by February 28, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
