Description
Scope of work consists of replacing two original equipment motor control centers (MCC) serving mechanical equipment on the second floor mechanical space. The two existing units are obsolete and are both Westinghouse Pow-R Breaker and Draw-out mechanism. The new MCCs shall incorporate current applications to best operate with variable and constant speed motors and associated applications. Each active and redundant breaker will be outfitted with data reading port compatible with the building control system. This port will be remote and accessible to monitor the energy use by these motor control centers. Provide new wiring, wiring support devices, safety devices to make the new MCC units compliant with all current NEC requirements associated with this type of equipment and UL rated. Estimated cost range between $100,000 and $500,000. NAICS is 235310. This is a negotiated procurement NOT sealed bid, and is open to all. The solicitation and drawing disk will be available on February 25, 2002. General Services Administration, PBS, Great Lakes Region, Property Management Division, Contract Support Services Branch, 5PMC, will no longer issue construction solicitations via the Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. For reasons of security, all requests for a copy of the solicitation and drawings must be submitted in writing. Any request for a copy of the documents must be made on the company's official letterhead accompanied by an original signature of an officer of the company, and the officer?s title. In order for the request to be valid, the requester must also provide a copy of one of the following documents: (1) Company's current business license, (2) a valid Dun and Bradstreet number, or (3) a valid state driver's license. No fax, telephonic, or e-mail requests will be honored. No hardcopies of the solicitation will be mailed. All solicitations will be stored on compact disc and mailed to the requester upon receipt of required information. All requests should be submitted to the point of contact whose name is cited in the Commerce Business Daily announcement and to the address cited therein.
