Description
Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane) is conducting a Market Research to determine the availability of all applicable non-developmental, compact, lightweight, rugged Image Fusion Small Arms Video Fire Controls. Image Fusion Small Arms Video Fire Control capability sought includes simultaneous display of thermal imager and image intensified images upon a single video screen with graphic user interface including weapon aiming point, laser range finder and system information. Image Fusion Small Arms Video Fire Control may be a retro-fit of the existing Lightweight Video Sight (LVS) produced by General Dynamics Canada, or a new fire control design fully incorporating the LVS interface and functional capabilities (including communication with programmable ammunition) and replacing the current image intensification capability with an image fusion capab ility integrating both thermal and image intensification elements simultaneously onto a display screen. Image Fusion Small Arms Video Fire Control must perform when mounted on a ground and/or vehicle mounted 40x53mm machine gun under low light and obscured battlefield conditions. Image Fusion Small Arms Video Fire Control must allow acquisition and recognition of targets at ranges not less than 2,200 meters. Interested parties should submit technical information regarding their system capabilities, technical approach, or conceptual approach to NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane, who will contact all parties submitting technical descriptions packages. Interested parties are encouraged to submit estimated cost and schedule information, and identify significant technical concerns and cost drivers. Any proprietary information included in the packages must be clearly marked as such. Some pa rties may be requested to permit the government to conduct field and laboratory assessments. The field and laboratory assessments would be conducted for approximately one month each at NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane, laboratories and at a CONUS field test location to be determined. These evaluation assessments will be conducted with systems loaned to the government at no charge and will not commit the government to any financial obligations.
