Description
NAICS Code: 541611 EPA's Office of Research and Development, National Center for Environmental Research (NCER) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) of Boston, MA to provide administrative support associated with the Minority Academic Institutions Undergraduate Student Fellowship Program. The contractor will obtain information of academic studies, skills, course list and working experience from the Fellows; identify and confirm their interests in environmental subjects they would like to work on in the summer and the EPA locations they will move to; solicit from and/or develop internship projects with EPA employees at various facilities which will match the Fellows' academic inerests; manage the process of matching projects with the Fellows, facilitate the introductions of the Fellows to their EPA technical advisors, and assist Fellows during the entire period as they work on their projects; monitor the Fellows during the internship and handle/resolve any issues which may arise beyond the Fellow and their EPA technical advisors during the internship; periodically conduct on-site visits in order to monitor their on-going progress and activities. Under a grant, ECO has already distributed 2002 program information to EPA facilities for this year's summer internship projects; compiled project description materials; sent these materials to the selected EPA fellows; collected the background academic studies, skills and course experience from the fellows. This notice is not a request for quotations. Any firm believing it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with this statement of work. Such documentation must be submitted to the POC within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of EPA. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisiiton Procedures.
