Description: Resource surveys are needed to determine occurrences of certain species of plants and rare/unique habitats within the Bankhead National Forest. The forest health and restoration initiative, which is currently being developed, includes approximately 11,000 acres of loblolly pines to be thinned and approximately 5,500 acres to be restored to native forest cover. Prior to conducting these restoration activities, it is vital to develop information regarding the occurrence of certain plants and their habitats that are considered in need of protection.
