- Description
- The Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, FL intends to solicit and award a Firm-Fixed Price, for a metal analyzer. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quotation is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The reference number is F33DOL13330100, and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This requirement is Full and Open Competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, with a small business standard size of 500 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. The requirement is for an X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrophotometer. The XRF system shall be capable of portable and in laboratory analysis of metal alloys. The unit shall be capable of hand held operation and be equipped with a cable at least 6 feet in length. The instrument shall be capable of operating on both battery and AC power. The instrument shall have an option to measure hot samples such as alloys being tempered. The instrument should be capable of detecting and measuring the following 24 elements common to metallurgy (Ag, As, Au, Bi, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hf, Mn, Mo, Nb, Ni, Pb, Re, Se, Sn, Ta, Ti, V, W, Y, Zn, Zr). The XRF shall contain two radioactive sources, cadmium 109 and iron 55 isotopes in a sealed and shielded housing. The instrument shall be capable as a laboratory bench top instrument and should have automatic source switching and processor controlled shutter mechanism. The instrument shall be microprocessor controlled with user editable library of alloys. The system shall be delivered with a certified set of at least two pure elements for onsite check and/or calibration. The unit shall be delivered with two sets of batteries. The instrument shall be delivered with a set of replacement detector windows. Purchase shall include shipping and applicable radioactive materials licensing requirements. Purchase shall include operator familiarization training, radiation safety training, and two-year warranty from date of training. These items are to be delivered FOB Destination to Eglin AFB, Florida.
