Description

NA Services consist of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and perform all work in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules, and drawings forming parts thereof for herbiciding at the Anniston Army Depot. Areas to be treated incl ude approximately 30 miles of boundary fence, 1123 earth-covered storage igloos, 44 miles of railroad right-of-way, and 98 miles of road shoulders. Fences require a two-foot band (1 foot on each side of fence) of vegetation control. This totals approxima tely 7 acres. The Contractor shall control all vegetation except grasses growing on igloos and surrounding 50-foot clear zone, the igloo yard in front of the igloos, and a 10' strip along each side of the igloo entrance road. Each igloo, yard, clear zone , and road comprises approximately 1.0 acre. Total acres are approximately 529 in FY 02 and FY04, and 594 in the FY 03 and FY05. Approximately 44 miles of railroad track shall be treated for complete vegetation control. The spray zone is 30' high and 15' from centerline of tract as measured on a horizontal plane across the top of both rails. This procurement is 100% Set Aside for Small Business concerns. North American Industry Classification System Code is 561730. This solicitation will be issued el ectronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102 (a)(7) and 14.205-1 (c); therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Quotes submitted must be in electronic format as stated in solicitation. Estimated issue date is 07 March 02. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact, unable to maintain a bidder's mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments, w hich may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of bids may render your bid non-responsive and result in the rejection of your bid.
