Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends negotiate an order with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, to develop and implement the processes and procedures required for the aircrew and organizational level maintainers to effectively operate, service and maintain the SHared Reconnaissance Pod (SHARP) at the squadron level. The SHARP will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment for integration into the F/A-18F aircraft. McDonnell Douglas is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, tooling, special test equipment and design/technical data necessary to accomplish this logistics effort for the F/A-18 aircraft.
