Description
US Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni has a requirement for the design, provision, and installation of office furniture in a new office building. The request for proposal will be issued in July, 2002. US Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is located near the city of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The scheduled date for the completion of the new office building is 31 March 2003. The new office building has three floors of office space: basement: approximately 5,275 square feet; first floor: approximately 20,786 square feet; and second floor: approximately 17,740 square feet. Delivery Schedule. Vendor shall ship the furniture in containers suitable for outdoor storage. The containers should reach the Lathrop Consolidated Shipping Point, French Camp, California, in time to allow for arrival at US Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni by 31 March 2003. Storage in Japan before installation in the new office building. The containers will be stored on US Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni but will not be stored in a warehouse. Hence the requirement for containers suitable for outdoor storage. Installation. The vendor will unload the furniture directly from the containers for direct installation into the new office building. The installation of the furniture shall be completed by 21 April 2003. Response date: 26 Mar 02. Qualifications for Vendors are: 1. Posess a current GSA Catalog for furniture. 2. Have experience in designing/producing scaled interior office furniture layouts on AutoCad. 3. Have experience in providing color 3-D drawings of office furniture layouts associated with cataloged equipment. 4. Have experience in providing office furniture installation and coordinating installation with containerized shipment s overseas of office furniture. 5. Have a broad selection of office furniture to choose from, including systems furniture that is equipped with power and communication wiring. 6. Have experience in installing office furniture on US Military Bases overseas. Experience in Japan is a plus. 7. Have an on-site representative in Japan.
