Description
Multiple award contract for the period September 2002 through August 2003 for the Library of Congress, Conservation Division. For preservation purposes, the Library houses its collections in archival storage products that are alkaline buffered or pH-neutral containers. The materials to be purchased are divided into eleven lots, each consisting of different products that vary in size and quantity and MUST meet all Library Specifications to be considered acceptable. No exceptions will be made. Some items will require sequenced delivery and will require storage by the vendor in environmental conditions of not more than 80o F and 60% RH. Award will be made by lot and may result in multiple awards. Lot No. 1 Bond Paper, LC Spec #100-111; Lot No. 2 Paper light weight, buffered, LC Spec #100-100; Lot No. 3 Bond Paper Folder w/ and w/o tab; Spec #100-112, 100-113; Lot No. 4 Spacer Boards LC Spec 600-601, 200-200; File Folders w Reinf Tab, LC Spec 200-211; Folders; LC Spec No. 200-221, 200-222; Lot No. 5 Document Storage Boxes, LC Spec 300-311; Lot No. 6 Drop Front Box, LC Spec #300-321, 300-322; Lot No. 7 Comic Book Box, No Spec; Photo Negative Box no lid; LC Spec #300-341; Lot No. 8 Polyester enclosures, LC Spec #500-511, 500-521; Lot No. 9 CD Storage Box, LC Spec 300-315; Lot No. 10 Record enclosures, LC Spec #200-233, 500-532; Lot No. 11 B-flute Board, LC Spec #600-612. Complete specifications are available online via http://lcweb.loc.gov/preserv/supply/specific.html Upon submission of bids, vendors shall be required to submit samples of raw materials and three prototypes of each type of product under each lot (but not each size) on which they are bidding. These samples will be tested by the Library at no cost to vendors to determine conformance to the Library's specifications. Failure of bid samples to meet the specifications will disqualify the corresponding product(s) from further consideration. Testing will take a minimum of 30 days from the start of the testing period. After award, delivered products will be tested again at no cost to the vendor to determine compliance with specifications.
