(2) Provide an animal facility (can be combined with #1 above) to house and maintain up to 10 additional uninfected or hepatitis virus (-B, -C,-D) infected chimpanzees. The solicitation, when issued, will contain evaluation criteria such as: The Offeror must have an Assurance on file and approved by the Office of Protection from Research Risks ensuring that the Offeror is in compliance with the Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals; Accreditation by the American Association of Laboratory Animal Care; adequacy and relevancy of the education, qualifications and experience of the proposed professional and technical personnel and their availability for performing the work of the proposed contract; Adequacy and availability of facilities and equipment to meet the requirements, e.g., P-2 and P-3 facilities (floor plan and space, temperature and relative humidity control, air exchange rates, bio-safety equipment and other capabilities for tests.) When requesting to be listed to receive a copy of the solicitation document, it would be helpful if the requester would explain at least briefly the qualifications and experience that might enable the contractor to submit a proposal in the competitive range.
