Description
NA This acquisition is a competitive action between SBA 8(a) contractors only. Bids will be accepted from those responsive, responsible SBA 8(a)contractors located in New Mexico and Texas only. Bids received from other than SBA designated 8(a) firms shall be considered non-responsive and shall be rejected. NAICS 234990/SIC Code 1542, size standard $28,500,000. Estimated cost of construction is between $5-$10 Million. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. This project is located at Alpine, TX about 175 miles south and east of El Paso, TX. The bidders attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for Bid for information regarding the tour of these sites. The approximate construction period is 365 calendar days. Plans will be issued on or abo ut 30 May 2002 with bids due 08 July 2002. This solicitation will be issued in CD-Rom format; it will not be issued on paper. BORDER PATROL STATION: Work consists of construction of a new 100-man U.S. Border Patrol Station at Alpine, Texas. Work includes site development, including utilities, grading, pavement and drainage. Construction of the station consists of office/administ ration space and detention areas, construction of a small maintenance building, fuel/vehicle wash island and support facilities. This project will be advertised as an Invitation for Bids. The Government will award to the lowest responsive, responsible SBA 8(a) bidder. All responsible SBA 8(a)sources may submit a bid. Bidders must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), in order to receive a Government contract award. Additionally a paper form for registration may be obtained from the DoD Electronic Commerce Information Center at 1-800-334-3414. THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSU ED USING ELECTRONIC BID SETS (EBS) AND PROVIDED ON COMPACT DISKS-READ ONLY (CED-ROM) AT NO CHARGE TO ALL REGISTERED PLANHOLDERS. Any prospective bidder interested in bidding must register to be placed on the Plan Holders List. If you are not registered the U.S. Government is not responsible for providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. Bidders should register themselves on the Internet. TO REGISTER, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU FIRST GO TO THE CONTRACTING DIVISION HOME PAGE AT: http: //www.spa.usace.army.mil. When you get to the site, click on: Contracting, then Solicitation Number. See EBS Albuquerque District, click on the solicitation you are interested in. Go to solicitation registration then click on: Register for this Solicitat ion. If you have not registered previously, click on: New User and follow the instructions for Login Information. This will require you to establish a user name and password. Keep the user name and password and share it with anyone else in your organizatio n that is responsible for registering your firm on the Plan Holders List. With our new system you only have to do the full registration one time. Anyone in your office can use your user name and password to sign up for other jobs. Each bidder, after regist ering for this solicitation should verify that his or her name appears on the Plan Holders List for this project. All bidders are required to check the Albuquerque District Contracting Division website daily to be notified of any changes to this solicitati on.
