- Description
- This Request for Information is issued for informational and planning purposes only. The Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) Europe Transportation Division has a requirement for Bus Security Attendants for all of its bus routes in Belgium, England, the Netherlands, and for its bus routes for the following schools in Germany: Bitburg, Spangdahlem, Geilenkirchen, and Kalkar. The duties the Bus Security Attendants will be required to provide include: riding on the buses during the entire morning and afternoon runs; observing, detecting, and reporting indicators of terrorist or other criminal interest in the students, the buses, and the bus routes; and conducting visual inspections of the buses for indicators of tampering or the presence of explosive devices. Those individuals serving as Bus Security Attendants will be required to meet certain minimum qualifications. These qualifications include; must be at least 21 years of age, must be able to speak/understand the English language, must have a U.S. High School Diploma or its host-nation equivalent, must be trained in First Aid and CPR, and must be able to pass a background investigation. At this time it is not known whether the contractor personnel will need to be trained in security procedures or if this training will be provided to qualified personnel by the Government. All interested offerors capable of performing these functions should submit the following information on or before 07 Jun 02. (1) A description of the company including its history, and the services it currently provides. (2) A statement that the offeror can provide personnel who have already been trained in security procedures, or a statement that the offeror can only provide personnel meeting the minimum qualifications who still need to be trained in security procedures. (3) If the offeror can provide personnel who have already been trained in security procedures, please provide the specific types of training these personnel have received. Also, if there are different levels of security personnel in the organization, please describe the training at each level. (4) Hourly wage rates of the personnel they would utilize to fulfill the Bus Security Attendant's duties and if the personnel need to be utilized a minimum number of hours per day, please indicate that as well. (5) A list of past or present customers who have received or are receiving the same or similar services. For each customer, this list shall include the place of performance, a point of contact and telephone number, and a brief description of the services being performed at the experience level of the personnel performing the requirement. (6) Finally, in addition to the routes identified above, the DoDDS Europe Transportation Division also has a requirement for Bus Security Attendants for the remainder of its bus routes in Germany as well as all of its bus routes in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Bahrain. Therefore, those offerors that can support all or some of these other locations shall specify the other locations they can support in their information submitted. This request for information is not a commercial solicitation and the Government will not pay for any information submitted nor will the Government pay for any costs associated with providing this information.
