Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates award of a contract to provide assistance to state education agencies (SEA), local education agencies (LEA), and select national non-governmental organizations (NGO) to strengthen their ability to implement professional development activities that will improve the quality of HIV prevention, comprehensive school health education and a coordinated school health program. Note: This procurement was orginally posted on 11/7/00, under RFP No. 2001-N-00026. However, the requirement was cancelled due to funding issues. The project is entitled: Enhancing Professional Development Among Education Agency Personnel and Others Who Work With Youth to Deliver Effective Education for Reducing Health Risk Behaviors Among Youth. Since 1987, CDC has funded a limited number agencies to establish national training centers and to provide professional development opportunities to other SEA and LEA. In 1998, CDC, one funded LEA, two funded SEAs, and a previously funded training assistance contractor banded together to establish a national training and development system to improve the health of young persons-the Training and Development Consortium (TDC). The TDC provides national coordination of effort and is committed to providing a range of high quality tailored learning opportunities for CDC-funded constituents based on their self-identified needs and interests. The contract awardee for this requirement will become a partner in the TDC. The period of performance is anticipated to be 60 months; a cost reimbursement type contract is contemplated. The award type is full and open, under NAICS code 541611. The solicitation will be posted to the http://www.fedbizopps.gov website on/about 7/22/02. A hard copy of the solicitation will not be issued. It is the responsibility of the offeror to keep up with additional postings regarding this RFP. Offerors are cautioned to include Solicitation No. 2002-N-00397 on all documentation submitted in response to this requirement. No telephone requests/inquiries will be accepted.
