- Description
- Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform an electrical renovation at the Recreation Building #240 located at the U.S. Coast Guard Activities, NY facility in Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY. The work includes but is not limited to: installation of new underground secondary feeders, installation of new service entrance switchboards, panelboards and feeders, installation of new pad mounted transformers, relocation of an existing air handling unit in the boiler room and miscellaneous associated work. Bidders are urged to inspect the site before submitting a bid. Bid, Performance and Payment Bonds are required. This Invitation for Bids is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation. This project is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. The applicable NAICS Code is 235310. The tentative date for receipt of bids is 25 July 2002. Bid packages will be available on or about 24 June 2002 at a non-refundable charge of $40. Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the firm at: 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast Guard. All relevant solicitation documents including specifications and drawings may be accessed for download for free commencing on the date of issue at the following website: http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued under this solicitation shall also be posted on this website. Also, you may refer to a list of other printers on the U.S. Coast Guard CEU/PROVIDENCE website at http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/ceuprovidence. Printers on this list may be able to download and print the solicitation and drawings and specifications for a fee. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
