Description
Please see below some answers to questions that have been raised with regard to this procurement. 1. Are the Ametek heat exchangers currently in use a fixed tubesheet or floating tube sheet design? The heat exchangers have a floating tubesheet design and are removable. This is indicated by the minimum distance required to remove the tubes on the Ametek drawings. 2. If the existing heat exchangers are floating tube sheet design, what is the rear head TEMA designation? The rear head shall comply with TEMA standards and allow the tubesheet to be removed from the front end. 3. What is the specific gravity or the mix percentage of the electrolyte? Is the mix percentage by weight or volume? The electrolyte is a mixture of deionized water and sodium carbonate (approximately 0.2% sodium carbonate) 4. In assuming the operating pressure is the same as the design pressure, this may result in higher than typical calculated pressure drops. What is the normal operating pressure for the shell side and the tube side? Currently, the operating pressures are approximately: 50 psi on the shell side and 30 psi on the tube side. 5. Can the body flanges be standard ANSI 150# RFSO flanges? The outside diameter of the ANSI standard is different than the 34 5/8" OD shown on the drawing? Body flanges can be standard ANSI 150# RFSO flanges since this dimension is not critical for direct replacement of existing heat exchangers. Note, as stated in the requirements, all external connection points and supports shall be sized and located as shown on Ametek drawing 5329-A-5 and the exchanger shall be fabricated as a direct replacement of the existing exchanger without modifications to existing piping or supports.
