- NA The Department of Defense (DOD) Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Research Program (CMLRP) is being established in Fiscal Year 2002 (FY02) to promote research in the field of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Congress has appropriated $5M for the CMLRP in FY 02. The US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) will manage this program. The DOD FY 02 CMLRP Announcement has been released as of June 11, 2002. The DO D FY02 CMLRP Announcement requests proposals though one award mechanism: Investigator-Initiated Research Awards. Applicants should be independent investigators at a level equivalent to or above that of Assistant Professor. Anticipated dollar value of awa rds will be up to $750,000 for a period of up to 3 years, inclusive of direct and indirect costs. A detailed description of the award mechanism, evaluation criteria and submission requirements can be found in the DOD FY02 CMLRP Program Announcement, which can be downloaded from the CDMRP web site: http://cdmrp.army.mil. All applicants considering submission of a proposal in response to this program announcement are requested to submit an electronic Letter of Intent as soon as possible but no later than Se ptember 4, 2002. Proposal receipt deadline for the FY02 CMLRP Program Announcement is no later than 11:59 p.m. (applicant's local time) September 18, 2002. All applicants will be required to submit one electronic version of their proposal as a PDF (Portab le Document Format) file.
