Description
NA The U.S. Army Soldier System Center, Product Manager - Force Sustainment Systems (PM-FSS) is seeking comments on the draft Purchase Description (please see below for instructions) for the Extraction Parachute Jettison System ? Heavy (EPJS-Heavy). This doc ument, when finalized, will become the primary basis for describing the requirements and verifications included in a request for proposals that will be issued to satisfy an operational requirement for jettisoning of extraction parachutes during heavy equip ment airdrop malfunctions. The EPJS-Heavy will provide a safe and reliable method to jettison a cluster of two or three 28-foot extraction parachutes during an extraction malfunction. An EPJS-Light having the capability to jettison a single 28-foot extra ction parachute is currently undergoing production and fielding. Proprietary information will not be disclosed outside the U.S. Government. Comments and other information provided will be used to refine the EPJS-Heavy Purchase Description to help ensure that requirements and verifications are clear and understandable to potential offerors. All interested firms, regardless of size are encouraged to respond to this request for information. This is only a request for information, not a pre-solicitation notic e. A pre-solicitation notice will be published if a formal solicitation is generated. No award will result from this request for information.
