Description
NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a mimimum of 45 each, and a maximum of 105 each, Geodetic Targets. Option 1: 46-60 Geodetic Targets, Option 2: 61-75 Geodetic Targets, Option 3: 76-90 Geodetic Targets, and Option 4: 91-105 Geodetic Targets. All options shall be priced in the quote. The target panel shall have a solid white circle 2.44 meters in diameter; the target shall be constructed of materials that will not warp, bend, or delaminate when exposed to environment conditions at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi; shall be designed for permanent installation, however the design shall permit the removal of the target panel in the event of a hurricane; panels shall be designed to resist average weather conditions at NASA/Stennis Space Center (not including anomalous events such as hurricanes and floods); the panels shall be designed such that they withstand winds up to 60 mph when secured to the ground; panels shall be designed to be removed from the site and stored indoors by a team of two people within twenty-four hours. A site visit will be held for potential offerors to view the existing targets at NASA/Stennis Space Center. All interested firms shall provide the names of not more than two company representatives who will attend the site visit as soon as possible after viewing the posting of this synopsis and/or at least 48 hours prior to the date of the site visit which will be held on July 11, 2002 at 9:00 a. m. Technical questions should be provided to this office on or before July 15, 2002. A prototype target shall be provided to NASA/SSC for inspection within 30 days after award. A minimum of 45 targets shall be delivered to the Government within 60 days after award, of which a partial delivery of a minimum of 22 targets shall be delivered within 40 days after award. The specification and drawings will be included in the solicitation document as attachments. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 314999 and 500, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 13-SSC-Q-02-46 is on or about July 8, 2002 with an anticipated quote due date of July 19, 2002. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
