Description
This modification 0001 to solicitation number 02TR0039, for the purchase of semi-automatic .40 caliber pistols, incorporates the following changes: (1) The quantity is hereby increased from 75 to 220; (2) the number of additional magazines required is increased from 150 to 440; and (3) the due date for receipt of quotations is extended to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time, July 23, 2002. A complete revised synopsis follows: The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a requirement for 220 semi-automatic, .40 caliber pistols with Trijicon Night Sights and two magazines. In addition, the DEA requires 440 each magazines (representing two additional magazines per weapon purchased). Per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 11.104, this is a brand name or equal acquisition. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: sub-compact, mechanically-locked, recoil-operated, semiautomatic, .40, double-action/single action trigger, automatic firing pin lock, 6.29 inches length, 4.17 inches height, 1.18 inches width, 3.46 inches barrel length, length of twist 9.84 inches, 19.75 ounce weight w/o magazine, 5.5 lbs. trigger pull, empty magazine weight 2.12 ounces, full magazine weight 7.23 ounces, trigger travel for discharge 0.5 inches, and blackened stainless steel finish. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be issued. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 02-TR-0039 and is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The provisions and clauses applicable to this RFQ are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 01-07. This is a full and open competition; there will be no set-aside requirements. The applicable NAICS code is 332995. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offers will be evaluated based primarily on price, but other factors that may be evaluated include customer service and warranty. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
