- Description
- This notice of intent to enter into Single Source Contracts, as well as the action to procure Technical Evaluation Services for RPDE and UHF Radios is cancelled. The Federal Aviation Administration plans to award single source contracts to ACS, NACI, SOHAR and Thane for technical evaluation services under the Next Generation Communication (NEXCOM) Rapid Preliminary Design Effort (RPDE) and UHF Radio Screening Information Requests (SIRs). Each of these contractors had provided technical services to the RPDE and UHF Radio acquisition teams as subcontractors to the FAA?s Technical Assistance Contractor, TRW. The FAA is severing its contractual obligation for these services from TRW because of an apparent organizational conflict of interest resulting from the recently announced acquisition of TRW by Northrop Grumman. Each vendor has obtained a detailed knowledge of the requirements related to the RPDE and UHF Radio acquisitions. The time required to complete a competitive acquisition for the technical evaluation services would likely delay award of the contracts for RPDE and UHF Radios and increase costs to the FAA. The period of pe! rformance for these services will extend through the evaluation and an initial period following award of the RPDE and UHF Radio contracts. The approximate value of the contracts is as follows: ACS $ 81,605 NACI $ 69,409 SOHAR $ 13,315 Thane $ 56,355
