Description
NA The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing the 30mm PGU-15/B TP Cartridge. The Government Technical Data Package contains the performance specification and top level drawings. The main com ponents include Aluminum Cartridge Case, Black Powder Flashtube Assembly, Nose Cap, and Propellant. The performance requirements include Function and Casualty, Muzzle Velocity, Chamber Pressure, Action Time, Accuracy, Environmnetal Conditions, and Waterpr oofness. The technical data package (TDP) is classified as ?Distribution D? limited distribution. Distribution Statement D means that the TDP cannot be distributed on the Internet. This TDP contains technical data whose export is restricted by the arms export control act, (Title 22, U.S.C., SEC 2751 ET SEQ.) or the Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended titled, 50 U.S.C. APP 2240, ET SEQ. Violations of these export laws are subject to severe criminal penalties. Disseminate IAW provision of DOD Di rective 5230.25. Offerors must be registered with the U.S./Canada Joint Certification Office to obtain a copy of the top two drawings (See www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/ for instructions and information). After receipt of required certification, request a copy of the specification and top level drawings via e-mail to krogmans@osc.army.mil, request must include Cage Code, Company Name, Address, phone e-mail address and point of contact. A respondent to this market survey must have available the facilities and skills required to design and prove out a 30mm PGU-15/B TP cartridge TP. Specific capabilities and skills required to manufacture the 30mm PGU-15/B TP Cartridge are as follows: Specific production capabilities required include: flash tube load, case prime, powder load, cartridge assembly, nose/body charge, tracer charge, projectile assembly, body assembly, End item Load, Assemble, and Pack (LAP), ultrasonic testing, ballistics testing and packout. Skills required to produce the Ctg Case include: Process/Design Engineers, set-up mechanics, toolmakers/machinists/tracer/HEI charging personnel. LAP personnel, ballistics testing, test technicians; certified inspectors; quality control engineers; and ski lls needed to maintain the equipment and facilities. A respondent?s production capacity must be sufficient to manufacture a total quantity of approximately 10,000,000 Cartridges per year. Interested U.S./Canadian firms who feel they are capable of manufacturing 30MM PGU-15/B TP Cartridges are invited to ind icate their interest by providing the Government a brief description of summary of their company?s capabilities, including a brief description of facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria. Information must be submitted to: HQ, OSC, ATTN: AMSOS-CCM-A/Stephanie Krogman, 1 Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL 61299-6000. Please respond NO LATER THAN 18 August 2002 and identify ?30MM PGU-15/B TP Cartridge? Sources Sought/Market Research? as the subject of your response. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provide will only be utilized by OSC in developing its acquisition approach for future requirements.
