Description
The U. S. Geological Survey, Northern Appalachian Research Laboratory, Wellsboro, PA has a requirement to rehabilitate the main laboratory passenger elevator. The work requirements are as follows: Provide all labor, materials, and equipment to renovate the passenger elevator in the main laboratory building at the facility. The elevator is part of the original building construction, which was completed in 1978 and has not been overhauled to bring it up to current codes. Although several major repairs and upgrades have been made, this work will complete the rehabilitation of the elevator. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment to accomplish the work, including lifts, ladders, pipe threading machines, etc. All work shall comply with and meet the existing United States elevator codes, ASME AI7.1. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing any required inspection certificates required by codes. The following are the major tasks associated with this work: Replacement of Controller System -the existing controller will be replaced with a modem, up-to-date, solid state control system. The system will allow for reprogramming of all relay logic and door timings. Replacement of Valve System -the existing valve separate assembly will be replaced with a unit valve system. Replacement of Door Operators -the existing door operators will be replaced with up-to-date operators. THIS ACQUISITION WILL BE MADE UNDER THE SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION THRESHOLD OF $100,000. Click "Find". Scroll down to subject solicitation. The anticipated award date is September 20, 2002. NAISC code is 235950. SIC code is 1796. The estimated magnitude of this project is $25,000 to $100,000. Quotes are due at 2:00p.m. EST on August 27, 2002.
