Description
NA The Government requires the services of a Musician/Accompanist/Lead Singer to provide practices and performances for regularly scheduled worship services, special services, and events as required and directed by the Installation Chaplain or his authorized designee for the Sunday 5:30 PM Catholic Service at Presidio of Monterey Chapel for base period of one year and four option years. Contract start date is 01 October 2002. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 711130 and the small bu siness size standard is $6.0 million. The total annual estimated units is 140. Practice is defined as a continuous 50-minute session, including members of the Catholic Choir, performed under the direction of the senior/supervisory chaplain, or worship r ehearsals at the call of the senior/supervisory chaplain. Performance is the playing or leading of music during the worship services, an hour or more in length, performed under the direction of the chaplain conducting the worship service. The contractor qualification requirement is that the Contractor must be able to play the piano, organ or guitar according to the following standards: (1) Play at sight most hymns in the Armed Forces Hymnal, with singable, appropriate tempo, note accuracy, rhythm, and reg istration if at the organ (2) Transpose a hymn for a few accidentals (sharps and flats) if on the organ and transpose without using the modulator dial on the organ. This may be prepared in advance but not written (3) Prepare in advance for performance any prelude and fugue by Bach, any work or movement by Mendelsson or Brahms, and any work by Pepping or Walcha and (4) Must be available for weekly worship services and a minimum of one weekly choir/worship rehearsal.
