- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Hypertek, Inc., under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The objective of this requirement is to provide the following tasks: 1) Investigate the RosettaNet's PIPs (Partner Interface Processes), PIDX specifications, and pdXML specifications relevant to the AEX Phase 1 scope of work. Document the common and unique aspects of the specifications that are relevant to the AEX project and assess their utility and applicability to the AEX Phase 1 scope; 2) Develop recommendations for how to use these specifications within the AEX Phase 1 project; and 3) Attend two meetings. Marty Burns of Hypertek has the unique combination of skills and experiences required for this job. Mr. Burns is active in the development of electrical metering protocols, participates in the ASHRAE (American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Guidelines Project Committee 20 for XML Specifications, has experience in process and chemical engineering information exchange capabilities and is contributing to the FIATECH XML Guidelines. A key objective of this work is to contribute to building a common foundation and an incremental framework for cross-industry collaboration on eBusiness data exchange specifications. Mr. Burns is active in these industry efforts. The period of performance is September 1, 2002 to January 31, 2003. The anticipated award date is on or about 6 days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
