Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center intends to exercise its option to extend services in accordance with contract clause FAR 52.217-8 on an other than full and open competition basis for a period not to exceed six months on contract N68939-96-D-0008 with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Ridgecrest, California. Contract N68936-02-D-0027 was competitively awarded to Veridian Engineering, Inc. on 1 July 2002, but timely protests were received following award. An extension to the period of performance on contract N68939-96-D-0008 will be necessary to provide for continuation of services during the time it will take to resolve the protests. This action will result in an extension to the period of performance of up to six months. The total estimated hours for the extension is 98,000 hours with an estimated value of $3,000,000. This sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. This sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. The contract extension is for continuation of services necessary to provide software systems development support; business process analysis and reengineering; information handling support; project planning, documentation and specification support; operations and maintenance of business and administrative information technology systems and computing centers, personal computing resource management and user support.
