Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center intends to exercise its option to extend services in accordance with contract clause FAR 52.217-8 on an other than full and open competition basis for a period not to exceed six months on contract N68939-97-D-0003 with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Ridgecrest, California. Contract N68936-02-D-0027 was competitively awarded to Veridian Engineering, Inc. on 1 July 2002, but timely protests were received following award. An extension to the period of performance on contract N68939-97-D-0003 will be necessary to provide for continuation of services during the time it will take to resolve the protests. This action will result in an extension to the period of performance of up to six months. The total estimated labor hours for the extension is 187,000 with an estimated value of $9,999,850. This sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. The contract extension is for continued performance for scientific and engineering federal information processing support services and materials, including artificial intelligence studies, analyses and implementation; modeling and simulation; benchmarking; CASE tool assessment and development; configuration management; COTS software analysis and integration; computer aided engineering; hardware and software systems engineering; hardware, software and system level planning; high performance computing; information system operations and maintenance; quality/product assurance; specification and standards analysis and implementation; system and application software development; system and software security; user and operator support, maintenance and integration; verification, validation and accreditation; and studies, analysis and assessment support All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the agency.
