- NA The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to award a contract for medical fielding support to equip, modernize, convert, transfer, and inactivate approximately 280 units, in the Active Forces, National Guard, Army Reserve and Ar my War Reserve Program. Contractor support will occur in the continental United States, Europe, Japan, Korea, and Southwest Asia and is required in adverse conditions and hazardous duty areas. Medical systems, which support hospital structure, consist o f hospital unit assemblages, which are Medical Materiel Sets (MMS), Dental Equipment Sets (DES), Veterinary Equipment Sets (VES), and Non-medical Associated Support Items of Equipment (ASIOE). Medical systems, in support of non-hospital units consist of m edical unit assemblages, which are Medical Equipment Sets (MES) Dental Equipment Sets (DES) and Veterinary Equipment Sets (VES). New systems fieldings, conversion, transfers, modernizations, and inactivations, require comprehensive logistical support duri ng the pre-fielding, fielding and post fielding phases of the equipping effort. The contractor will be required to provide technical and database information retrieval services in the area of Materiel Force Structure Support Services. The USAMRAA anticip ates awarding one contract containing a one-year base period and four (4) one-year options. The contract will include an award-term incentive thus, allowing for the contract to extend from a minimum of five years to a maximum of fifteen years, depending o n contractor performance and Government need. The RFP will be released on or about October 1, 2002 and must be accessed at URL http://www.usamraa.army.mil under Productions, Solicitations. Telephone requests will not be honored. Proposals are due 30 day s after release of the RFP.
