Description
This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The size standard is 500 employees for NAICS 337215, for IRON-A-WAY INC Locker Ironing Board, model A-46, or equivalent, qty 220. For bulkhead installation on ships, 18 ga. Steel designed to meet or exceed Naval specifications for strength and rigidity. Must meet Grade "B" Shock Test as defined in MIL-S-901. Lift and turn door handle with captive security screw to prevent door from opening from explosion impact of a mine or torpedo. Baked enamel exterior finish, with 46" ironing board that adjusts in height by 4". Standard equipage includes Black & Decker steam iron permanently attached with self-contained storage locker, cover and pad, sleeveboard and spotlight fixture. Electric 110 VAC control panel with automatic timer, appliance outlet, red indicator light and safety door switch. O.D. dimension 58 3/8" x 14 ?" x 6 ?". Delivery required 20 calendar days after contract award. All material must conform to MILSTD 1623-Habitability for shipboard application, and be approved for shipboard use. Item must be approved for shipboard use by CD-NSWC, in writing, based on submittal of a vendor's submittal form. Delivery FOB Destination to Suffolk, VA. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies. The Government anticipates award of a single firm fixed-price contract. Notes 1, and 9 apply. Prospective offerors not CCR-registered should immediately begin the registration process. The solicitation will be posted to the NECO web site: www.neco.navy.mil under "Business Opportunities" and solicitation number "N00406-02-R-5223", on or about 3 Sep 2002. The Government will NOT distribute hard-copy solicitations or amendments. The Government will not mail, fax, or e-mail the solicitation or any amendments thereto. Subsequent amendments, if any, will be transmitted solely via the NECO web site. Prospective offerors are responsible for checking the NECO web site early and periodically for any solicitation amendments. Prospective offerors should not expect notification that an amendment has been issued. The NECO web site is occasionally inaccessible due to maintenance. The Government is not responsible for any loss of Internet connectivity or for an offeror's inability to access the document posted on the referenced web site. Telephone requests will not be honored. Facsimile proposals are acceptable, however electronic submission of proposals is not available for this procurement.
