Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is DLR20315 and incorporates provisions and clauses through FAC 2001-09. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The NAICS/Code is 334516/500EM. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is interested in obtaining the following: One (1) each Piximus II Small Animal Densitometer System which includes 100 specimen trays, pentium processor, portable notebook (WIN 98), and a 12 month warranty. Rodent densitometer must measure the following: bone mineral density in mg/cm2 with standard deviation 0.075 mg/cm2 or less, bone mineral content in mg, bone area in cm2, percent fat with SD 1% or less, lean tissue in grams, and fat tissue in grams. The system must have the following specifications: less than 5 minutes/acquisition, pixel size 0.18 x0.18mm, image area 80x65mm, measure animal size 10-50 grams, cone bean, stationary area detector, computer with Pentium processor, program to run densitometer, and Windows 98, xray tube/generator: stationary anode, 0.3 mm focal spot and dual energy supply and can supply 80/36 kVp at 500 uA, physically can be housed on bench top 30Wx63Dx33H cm and weights 27 kg or less, 110-120-VAC. Delivery of requested items is to NIEHS, Bldg. 104, 111 TW Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. Offeror should quote FOB Destination. The following provision applies to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors. There are no additional addenda. FAR Clause 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certification-Commercial with offers. FAR Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following paragraphs of 52.212-5 apply: (a) and (11)-(16)(21)(22)(25)(27) of (b) and 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. Defense Priorities and Allocations Systems (DPAS) does not apply.
