Description
This is a combination synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR SUBPART 12.6, and supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number is SP0600-02-R-0310. The closing date and location for receipt of quotations will be at the issuing office until 2:00 PM Central Time, 23 September 2002. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 33240 and the size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation is a request for proposal (RFP) for a firm fixed price contract to provide Dinitrogen Tetroxide and hydrazine Stainless Steel 4BW Cylinders. Line Item: 0001, Certification of 19 each 4BW 120-gallon stainless steel cylinders to UN1A1; Line Item: 0002, 19 each, 4BW 120 gallon stainless steel cylinders, Dinitrogen Tetroxide, 9135-00-926-2164; Line Item: 0003, 10 each, 4BW 55 gallon stainless steel cylinder, Dinitrogen Tetroxide, 9135-00-926-2164; Line Item: 0004, 6 each, 4BW 30 gallon stainless steel cylinder, Dinitrogen Tetroxide, 9135-00-926-2164; Line Item: 0005, 6 each, 4BW 30 gallon stainless steel cylinder, Methylhydrazine (MMH), 9135-00-082-2455. The Statement of Objectives for this acquisition are as follows: STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES A contract is required for the procurement of stainless steel cylinders in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 49, and NASA Kennedy Space Center Procurement Specification 81K05262 for use in dinitrogen tetroxide and hydrazine service. Final inspection and acceptance shall be at destination, Mississippi Chemicals, Yazoo City Mississippi, by a Government Quality Representative (QAR). One 4BW 120-gallon stainless steel cylinder will be provided for inspection. If the cylinder is rejected for any reason, the manufacturer will be responsible for the transportation costs for returning the cylinder to the manufacturers facility and all costs associated with ensuring conformance with the Statement of Objectives provided on an attachment.
