Description
Under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement to discuss a shared (co-operative) agreement for maintenance and repair of Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology equipment located at the NF/SGVHS in Gainesville with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. NAICS code 811219 applies to this procurement. Equipment to be serviced is two Cathcor C and LX Systems and accessories. Provide complete maintenance and repair coverage, to include but not limited to: on-site repair, all labor, parts and travel; 24-hour, 7-days/week coverage, to include toll-free telephone assistance for basic system operating procedures and remote diagnostics, identifying problems, and resolve system failures with work-around instructions if possible. Responses within 2 hours via telephone and within 24 hours for on-site coverage. Provide quarterly preventive maintenance to include cleaning, lubricating, and testing procedures designed to reduce system failures. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302 and under Commercial Item Acquisition, FAR Part 12. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to this requirement or to submit proposals by September 30, 2002. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before September 30, 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of dining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
