Description

It is the Government?s intent to negotiate on a Sole Source basis with Bio-Rad Laboratories, 2000 Alfred Noble Drive Hercules, CA 94547 for a Pulsed Field Electrophoresis System. The system must meet the following specifications: (1) Express mutant gene constructs and /or generate recombinant viruses with relative ease,(2) Provide arc protection to reduce risk of arcing, protecting both instrument and sample,(3) Be universal for prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell transfection,(4) Must possess a diagnostic algorithm,(5) Must have control of high-voltage pulses used for bacteria and yeast electroporation with12 resistor settings (50,100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900,1000 plus infinity,(6) Must have an automatic discharge of the capacitors if the pulse or circuit is interrupted,(7) Unit must have a microprocessor-controlled circuitry, (8) Unit should include a chef Mapper XA power module, (9) UV-transparent gel trays with fluorescent ruler,(10) Buffer re-circulation ports, (11) Single Step locking system for Simple, Speedy Setup, (12) Capacity to Transfer Multiple Gels and (13) Gel Dryer that has 3 preprogrammed drying cycles to provide optimum drying for and type of gel, particularly sequencing gels. A Request for Quotations is not available. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered. See Numbered Note 22.
