Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) intends to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) to the firm identified as Pacific Survey Supply located in Medford, Oregon. Pacific Survey Supply is the only manufacturer which has developed an integrated, computerized system for three-dimensional laser digital scanning, image manipulation/processing, analyzing and documenting forensic case information. The system developed is composed of a high resolution microscopic scanner and forensic software application package which provides data processing capabilities which measure, manipulate, and perform comparative analysis with other stored scanned images currently stored in a relational database. The scanner uses technology, which provides flexibility in scanning a wide variety of small and large objects. In addition, Pacific Survey Supply developed the system and has proprietary information relative to the data bases utilized by FWS. The integrated instrument and software is only available through this company. The forensic system consists of a Perceptron, high-resolution microscope scanner, Romer 300I portable Coordinate Measuring Instrument, Forensic application software platform, and training on system usage. This is a sole source contract for equipment purchase and training.
