Description

This is a notice of intent to award, subject to the availability of funds [FAR 32.705-1(a)], on a sole source basis, for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format described in FAR Subpart 12, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through FAC 2001-09 effective September 30, 2002. The Government plans to award a firm fixed priced sole source purchase order to National Mailing Systems, Inc., of McLean, Virginia, using simplified acquisition procedures. The Department of Justice has a need for the continued maintenance of various integrated mail metering equipment throughout the year. The provision 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors?Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Provision 52.212-2 Evaluation?Commercial Items applies. Any responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals, bids or quotes. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement [see Note 22].
