Description
Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/MLOP) solicits research proposal ?Collaborative Research and Development.? The objective of this program is to provide basic research in the physical and engineering sciences. With the continued broad scope of AFRL Materials Directorate programs, the number of disciplines involved, and the constant need for short-term specialist to conduct studies in specific subjects, the Materials Directorate needs to maintain the capability to provide contractor personnel with highly specialized skills through a contractual effort in order to meet its research objectives. This program will offer the opportunity for basic research in the areas of chemistry, physics, metallurgy, ceramics, nondestructive evaluation, nano-materials, nano-science, bio-memetics, bio-materials, and solid mechanics within the directed AFRL approved mission in support of the Air Force mission. The contractor shall be required to provide a professional effort for investigating, defining, and predicting the basic physical and engineering scientific phenomena occurring in the aerospace environments. Specifically, the work will consist of a wide range of individual tasks involving theoretical studies and concepts. Work to be performed will be assigned periodically and on a relatively short notice throughout the contract. Interested offerors may view and/or download the full RFP solicitation by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) homepage at http://www.eps.gov/.
