Description

The Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled (The Committee), on the behalf of National Industries for the Blind, is pursuing a partnership with U.S. commercial service provider of Document Imaging Services which meet the following criteria: (1) A globally recognized leader in imaging technology, (2) Possession of a nationally known brand name that can be demonstrated to have significant appeal through evidence of substantial sales, (3) Willingness to enter into a multi-year agreement, which includes: technical assistance to a nonprofit agency (that meets the criteria of the Javits-Wagner-O?Day (JWOD) Program) to facilitate the implementation of the services in question thereby creating employment for people who are blind, (4) Commitment to working independently with the JWOD team (The Committee, NIB and nonprofit agencies) to market the service(s) to Government customers under the JWOD Program, (5) Willingness to work with the JWOD team to ensure that the service price to end-users is fair and reasonable, (6) Commercial Service Providers? submissions must demonstrate that the specific service(s) meet the various criteria, as well as indicate what functions the nonprofit agency?s employees would perform. At this time only service providers need reply. No response is required from nonprofit agencies. The deadline for response is December 5, 2002.
