Description

***** The purpose of this amendment is to change the solicitation issue date to 8 November, 2002 and the due date for bids to 12 December 2002. The Ship is now available for inspection in Honolulu, HI 2-6 December, 2002. No other changes are made to the original FedBizOpps notice.***** Dockside repairs to the NOAA Ship KA'IMIMOANA. Vessel characteristics: length 224 ft; draft 15 ft; hull- welded steel/ice strengthened; displacement 2,301 tons; gross tonnage- 2,014 net tonnage 604. Additional vessel characteristics can be found at www.pmc.noaa.gov/ka. Work will include, but is not limited to: ABS Inspection Assistance, Main Propulsion Generator Engine Overhaul, MIRANDA Davit, Inspection, Repair and Overhaul, Davit Track Modification, Tank Level Indicator inspection, repair and testing, Installation of a Fire main valve, Auxiliary Sea Water Valve replacement, Freshwater Cooling System Valve repairs, J-Frame/ CTD Winch Control Station relocation, Main Propulsion Generator Engine tune-up, Leslie Control Valve repairs, Assist Ship's force painting, Sheet Metal Sheathing replacement, Brailling Winch repairs, Hatch Coming Drain relocation, Stuffing Tube replacement. Work is scheduled to commence 8 January 2003 and continue through 14 February 2003 at the Naval Station in San Diego, CA. Ship is available for inspection in Honolulu, HI November 20-22, 2002. This is 100% Small Business Set Aside.
