- NA This FedBizOpps announcement is a notice that TRICARE Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 which include all military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF?s) in the states of Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Missou ri, Idaho, Oklahoma, New Mexico, North Dakota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, California, Hawaii, Japan, Okinawa, Republic of Korea, and Guam are in the standardization process for the product lines of: DISPOSABLE SINGLE USE PEDIAT RIC AND ADULT DIAPERS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SIZES AND STYLES. The intent of the standardization program is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items to standardize purchasing of products for these MTF?s. Clinical Product Teams (CPT ) will evaluate this product line. Teams are composed of physicians, nurses and clinicians who have expertise and knowledge of the products. They will review and technically evaluate any samples submitted. TRICARE Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 deem the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Companies interested in having their items evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the item requir ements. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS FOR ALL OF THE DISPOSABLE DIAPERS: 1. Products are disposable 2. Products are made from non-woven low-linting material 3. Product lines must have assorted styles and sizes to meet the needs of the users, 4. Products must be latex-free and so identified on packaging 5. Hypoallergenic products are available 6. Ability to service all regions with clinical support, education programs, utilization reports, and provide volume discounts 7. Ability to provide and assist in a plan of implementation, including a conversion chart to show competitors like items. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS ARE: 1. Topsheet pulls moisture away from the body 2. Moisture proof backing protects clothes and bedding 3. Rewet absorbency is go od 4. Products are durable (does not tear easily) 5. Leakage protection for fluid and feces 6. No gaps when in use 7. Diaper or brief stays secured in place 8. Diaper or pull-up stays intact 9. Wetness indicator is effective 10. Product is able to n eutralize odor 11. Products allow free movement 12. Fasteners are adjustable/reusable. 13. Skin integrity is maintained 14. The size and type of diaper/pull-up is identified from the packaging. This is not a Request for Proposal; the purpose of the so urces sought notice is to seek commercial sources that will meet the US Government requirements. Suppliers must be DAPA holders and will be required to conduct clinical evaluations and provide clinical samples at no cost to the government. If your compan y currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for this Medical/Surgical Product Line, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you are still eligible to participate in the standardization process for these regions by contacting the Defense Support Center-Philadelphia (DSCP). Please contact the DAPA contracting officer, Mr. Lou Jennings at (215) 737-2125 for assistance. Your company can be cons idered for standardization once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. After you have notified the Tri-Service Regional Business Office (TRBO) that your company wishes to participate, or that your DAPA application is pending with DSCP, your company will be not ified prior to the start of the standardization process for this Product Line. If your company can provide any of these items, please forward four copies of the appropriate product literature to: Pat Flowers, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, 7800 IH 10 West, Suite 315, San Antonio, TX. 78230. Please include a cover letter identifying a point of contact in case there any questions regarding the pr oducts. Product samples will be requested at a later date. Companies not submitting product literature by 02 Dec 02 may be eliminated from consideration. If the CPT recommends a company, the Tri-service Regional Business Office may request sales data. T his information will be treated as proprietary and not releasable.
