Description

Description: The National Park Service will be issuing a prospectus on Friday, November 8, 2002, to solicit proposals for providing medical services in Yellowstone National Park. Proposals, including that of the existing concessioner, are due in the Business Resources Division, National Park Service, Intermountain Regional Office, P.O. Box 25287, Denver, Colorado 80225 (Federal Express address: 12795 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, telephone 303-969-2661) no later than 4:00 p.m., December 13, 2002. Medical services are currently authorized under a concession contract between the National Park Service and West Park Hospital, Cody, Wyoming. West Park Hospital does business in the park as Yellowstone Park Medical Services. This contract expires by limitation of time on December 31, 2002. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR, Part 51, has determined that this is not a qualified concession contract and, therefore, no preferred Offeror for this contract exists. Services will require providing clinic and emergency medical services for park visitors and employees at two locations in the park's interior and a third operation, which is open all year, at park headquarters. Requirements also include providing helicopter service for life-flights to medical facilities out of the park. The National Park Service has determined that the contract term for this business opportunity will be for a period of ten (10) years.
