Description
Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC) is the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) contractor for the United States Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site (SRS), located near Aiken, SC. WSRC is seeking prospective Subcontractors interested in performing deactivation, demolition, decommissioning, characterization, and asbestos abatement of buildings erected at the site. WSRC contemplates awarding Firm Fixed Price (FFP) subcontracts over an extended period of time. Prospective subcontractors are requested to identify their interest and anticipated attendance at a Vendor Forum to be held on December 3, 2002, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at SRS, Building 703-41A, Rainbow Conference Rooms. All subcontractors that anticipate attendance must supply the attendee names, social security numbers, and company name, point of contact name and telephone number (or fax/e-mail address) in order to assure site access. The information should be sent to WSRC, Procurement Materials and Management Dept., ATTN: Michael Reynolds, Bldg. 730-4B, Aiken, SC 29808 and received by November 22, 2002. The contracting approach, type and number of subcontracts is yet to be determined and will be discussed at the forum. The work scopes will be separated into those directed at demolition of buildings containing no constituents of concern (clean) and those containing constituents such as asbestos, radionuclides, RCRA, and TSCA concerns (dirty) for an estimated 72 buildings. Discussions will be held regarding scheduling, description of building size and complexity, site work requirements, and the proposed schedules. Prospective subcontractors must be prepared to provide WSRC with the following information at the forum: 1) project experience, 2) a list of projects similar in scope and complexity, and 3) name, address, phone, e-mail, and fax numbers of two client references for each project. Responsibility checks will be performed on all prospective subcontractors, to include but not be limited to 1) safety performance; 2) financial capability; and 3) references. All prospective subcontractors will be briefed regarding the scope of work. A tour of the facilities to be demolished will conclude the forum. This is a request only for parties interested in attending a Vendor Forum. It is NOT a request for proposal.
