31?BEARING, SLEEVE. NSN 3120-01-351-0591NZ, 2765 Each. Applicable to: F100PW100 Core Module. Destination: FB2039, ACCT09, Tinker Air Force Base Ok 73145-3032. Delivery: TBD, 2765 ea. The approximate issue date will be 14 Nov 02. The only current approved source is Pratt and Whitney, East Hartford CT., CAGE 52661. The U. S. Government plans to purchase this requirement directly from the actual manufacturer or vendor, including a prime contractor who is the actual manufacturer. Additionally, contracting will be made only from the currently approved source at the time of the closing, 6 Jan 2003. Qualification Requirements will be made available upon request however, this requirement will not be held pending the approval of Source Approval Packages. The purpose of this synopsis is to afford small businesses the opportunity to contact the approved source, Pratt & Whitney, for subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement. Interested small businesses must make direct contact with Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford. No telephone requests on this matter will be accepted by OC-ALC/LPKBB. SIZE AND DIMENSIONS: Est. 0.334 X 0.484 / 75OD X 0.695 Long. FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: Bearing used on the 4th Stage Compressor Case, Supports the 4th Stage Vanes. PREDOMINANT MATERIAL OF MANUFACTURE: Steel Encased Carbon. The reliability of this component is dependent upon establishing and maintain effective process control. Quality cannot be inspected into this component. First Article is waived only for Pratt and Whitney. This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to assure that prospective offerers are capable of establishing and maintaining effective process control. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
