Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Partnership Opportunity for the Fourier-Kelvin Stellar Interferometer (FKSI), which was posted on Thursday, October 31, 2002. You are notified that the following changes are made: Section 6.1 "POD Response Instructions for Development Support" paragraph 4 is revised to read: Provide a very Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimate and timeline for the scope of the design, fabrication, and testing of the spacecraft, and a separate ROM for a low cost mission operations capability if this capability is also being proposed. The respondent shall not be held to the cost or schedule in any way, but it will serve as a consideration during the partnership evaluation. In consideration of the rigid cost cap for Discovery missions, our placeholder for the total cost of the spacecraft is approximately $60M ($FY03)(**The placeholder cost figure does not include observatory-level integration and testing**). The respondent is invited to comment on the reasonableness of the placeholder cost. ** (additional information added) The due date for responses remains unchanged from Tuesday, November 12, 2002 as stated in the original notice. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
